Center for Autism Launches Live Web Show Giving Viewers 100% Access to Up-to-the-Minute Autism Resources and Training
The Center for Autism and Related Disorders will host the first of its kind Colorado Autism Conference in Denver on Saturday, October 8, 2011 for parents, practitioners and students.
WORLDWIDE, September 8, 2011 The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), the world’s largest autism treatment center that provides state-of-the art therapy, today announced the launch of Skills Live™, a daily webcast that gives everyone access to up to the minute autism news and effective treatment strategies. Skills Live is the first of its kind and is available to viewers each weekday from 9 am to 1 pm (Pacific Standard Time), on the Internet at skillsforautism.com/skills-live.html.
The Skills Live show goes beyond a basic web cast by enabling members to ask questions with autism experts and a CARD-trained moderator on a daily basis and live. “When our son was diagnosed with autism we didn’t know what to do or where to turn,” says Skills Live host Shannon Penrod. “My goal in hosting this show is to help parents and teachers get the information they need, when they need it.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated one in 110 children in America is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), making ASD more common than pediatric cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. ASDs are a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.
