Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD®)

At CARD®, we know that caregivers are the most important part of a child’s journey. When parents and guardians feel confident, children thrive.

That’s why we have teamed up with Skills for Parents (S4P), an easy-to-follow, flexible system designed to give you practical tools, guided support, and encouragement every step of the way. Every feature is built to make your role easier, your confidence stronger, and your impact greater.

What’s Inside the Program?

With Skills for Parents (S4P), you get a clear, guided path to help your child grow, thrive, and feel understood. Offering over 50 in-depth modules, with new modules added every month, topics can include:

  • Potty training, improving your child’s sleep
  • Making connections with your child, how to join friends in play, social greetings
  • Handwashing, routines, emotional states, and more!

S4P provides mobile-friendly, efficient assessments that streamline caregiver interactions and track progress from a single dashboard.

How It Works

Every week, you’ll connect with your child’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to:

  • Review your child’s progress
  • Talk through any current challenges
  • Choose specific goals to focus on

Between sessions, you’ll watch short video modules and practice simple strategies at home with your child. These activities are designed to easily fit into your family’s daily routines.

The focus is always on the goals that matter most to you: reducing tantrums, encouraging communication, supporting transitions, or helping your child regulate emotions. Each week builds on the last, so your confidence grows steadily along with your child’s skills.

  • Helping a child learn simple calming strategies, like taking a break or using deep breaths
  • Encouraging independence with tasks like brushing teeth or packing a backpack

We’ll show you how to apply ABA tools such as First/Then statements, reward systems, visual supports, and modeling, all in ways that blend seamlessly into everyday life.

CARD® Parent

I feel more confident now. I finally understand why certain behaviors happen and what to do about them.

Caregiver

This program helped us bring calm to our mornings. We’re not fighting about toothbrushing anymore!

CARD® Parent

Even though I’ve been doing ABA for over 3 years (with another agency), this program was a good reminder of what things have worked in the past. He’s older and has a lot more skills so it was helpful to be reminded and also learn how to adjust the techniques to where he is at now.
