• The current study explored the effectiveness of telehealth direct therapy at improving skill acquisition in autistic individuals.
• Telehealth direct therapy was effective for patients across varying symptom severity levels and age ranges to address a variety of skills using discrete trial training and natural environment training strategies.
• Varying degrees of caregiver assistance may be required depending on the patient’s level of need.
• Telehealth is a viable supplemental or alternative treatment modality even as we move beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
